Competition Clubs

Competition Clubs

If you would like to enroll your child a robotics program that aims to have the kids compete in friendly competitions like FIRST LEGO League (FLL), VEX IQ Challenge (VIQC) , or World Robot Olympiad (WRO) we offer those team-based competition clubs.

About the Competition

Registration for the competition teams is now open. We will be happy to support our young engineers at any point of the competition season so do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or (405) 430-1215.

How many players are on a VIQC team?

Teams will consist of 2 or 3 players.

How long does the competition season last?

A competitive team always improves their spot on the competitions by making themselves ready for the challenges. Young minds would be excited at least for a year. Most kids want to continue for many years.

When and where will the teams meet?

Teams meet at least once a week at our location in Edmond, Oklahoma.

What will my child do on a team?

We have four main roles on each team: Designer, Builder, Programmer, and Driver. Each team member will have one lead role and one assistant role. This ensures backup options in case a child must miss a tournament or drops out. Furthermore, all team members will be expected to learn the basics of each role, so that they can work better together. Teams will have a strong say in how roles are assigned, but coaches may override their preferences to ensure equal distribution of roles. We encourage kids to select the role where they think they can best help the team, and we provide the training to help them do the work. Each role is critical to the team's success. We will provide "job descriptions" so they understand what their responsibilities will be. We also foster an environment where team members are accountable for their roles. We try to prepare them for the same type of team-driven environment they will find if they pursue a career in robotics or other STEM fields.

I am really interested in the competition clubs and I want my child to participate in, what should I do?

Whenever you decide to join the competition teams, make sure to call or email and we will make sure your child will have a spot, if not this year, definitely next year. We want to make sure our students are enjoying the competition environment.
